AFTER GRADUATING, SHE BECAME A CM2 TEACHER AT DAWSON MIDDLE SCHOOL, WHERE SHE HAS SHARED HER PASSION FOR LEARNING AND UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO STUDENTS EVER SINCE, SPECIALIZING IN SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL DISABILITIES, MISS YOUNG EMPOWERS HER STUDENTS TO FIND SUCCESS BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE GENERAL EDUCATION CLASSROOM. MISS YOUNG ALSO SERVES AS OUR COORDINATOR FOR EXTENDED DAY, A PROGRAM THAT GIVES STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY AFTER SCHOOL TO COMPLETE ASSIGNMENTS OR RETAKE TESTS AND QUIZZES. NOT ONLY DOES MISS YOUNG ENSURE THAT EXTENDED DAY IS STAFFED EACH DAY, BUT SHE FREQUENTLY STAYS HERSELF WHENEVER COVERAGE IS NEEDED BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.

LASTLY, LAST WEEK, THE BLACK TIGER TEAM TWO HELD ITS FIRST MEETING AS PART OF THE ONGOING FIVE YEAR BUDGET REVIEW AND ADVISORY COMMITTEE, WHICH IS STANDS FOR BRAC PLAN. THE PURPOSE OF THIS TEAM IS TO ANALYZE, PRIORITIZE AND DETERMINE THE NEXT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE FIVE YEAR PLAN TO HELP CARROLL ISD ADDRESS BUDGET PRESSURES, BALANCE OUR FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS, AND PREVENT THE NEED FOR CUTS TO STAFF OR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS. THIS WORK IS CRITICAL TO ENSURING WE CONTINUE PROVIDING THE HIGHEST QUALITY EDUCATION, WHILE BEING RESPONSIBLE STEWARDS OF TAXPAYER RESOURCES.

WELL, AS WE MOVE INTO THE FALL SEASON, I WANT TO TAKE A MINUTE TO CELEBRATE THE INCREDIBLE MOMENTUM EXPERIENCE EXPERIENCING ACROSS ALL CARROLL ISD CAMPUSES. I'M PROUD TO SHARE THAT CISD IS ONCE AGAIN BEEN RATED AN A DISTRICT BY THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY.IT'S THE RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY DEDICATION BY OUR STUDENTS, EDUCATORS, SUPPORT STAFF, AND FAMILIES WHO CONSISTENTLY SET AND MEET HIGH EXPECTATIONS. OUR COMMITMENT TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE CONTINUES TO SHINE ON THE NATIONAL STAGE.
AS WELL AS 32 CARROLL ISD STUDENTS HAVE BEEN NAMED NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLAR SEMIFINALISTS.
MOST ALL OF THOSE WILL BECOME NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS, AN OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENT THAT REFLECTS THEIR HARD WORK AS WELL AS THE STRONG FOUNDATION PROVIDED BY OUR TEACHERS AND CURRICULUM TEAMS. THESE STUDENTS EXEMPLIFY WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A DRAGON FOCUSED, DISCIPLINED, AND DRIVEN TO SUCCEED IN ATHLETICS.
OUR STUDENT ATHLETES ARE OFF TO AN INCREDIBLE START THIS FALL.
THE CARROLL DRAGON FOOTBALL TEAM IS THE TOP RANKED FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE STATE, WHILE OUR VOLLEYBALL, CROSS COUNTRY AND WATER POLO TEAMS ARE ALL COMPETING AT ELITE LEVELS AND EARNING RECOGNITION THROUGHOUT TEXAS.
WE ARE PROUD TO BE STRONG CONTENDERS ONCE AGAIN FOR THE UIL LONE STAR CUP, WHICH RECOGNIZES THE MOST SUCCESSFUL DISTRICTS IN THE STATE BASED ON ACADEMICS, ATHLETICS AND FINE ARTS. OUR DRAGONS CONTINUE TO REPRESENT OUR COMMUNITY WITH PRIDE, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND A RELENTLESS DRIVE TO BE THEIR BEST. OUR FINE ARTS PROGRAM IS ALSO THRIVING.

THE TALENT, ENERGY AND PROFESSIONALISM OF OUR STUDENTS AND DIRECTORS WERE ON FULL DISPLAY, AND IT WAS A POWERFUL REMINDER OF JUST HOW STRONG THE FINE ARTS PROGRAM IS RIGHT HERE IN CARROLL.
